Before Starting Domain Name setup. Let me start with Domain name

What is domain name?
Domain name is the unique address that identifies the location of the website.
Eg : web address or URL ( Uniform Resource Locator) of Help Lazy Sam is http://www.helplazysam.com. Here helplazysam.com is the domain name. http:// is the protocol used to access this website, and www is a subdomain (not required). You can access this site by typing in http://helplazysam.com without the www. Domain names are registered by the website owner with a domain registrar.

Millions of website resides on a webservers, each server can be identified by IP (Internet Protocol ) address it something like ( IP V4 – 94.236.75.107 IP V6 – 2607:f0d0:1002:0051:0000:0000:0000:0004 ) and difficult to remember these numbers, there for domain names were introduced tomange this problem and it mapping with server location and addrss where website page reside.

How Domain name can use and Who controling this.

ICANN [ Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers] (http://www.icann.org ) formed in 1998 they are coordinates these numbers and names better say controling of name system. Trhough ICANN approved domain register you can reigster a domain name and domain registers maintain a databse of the domain names registred with them along with the location of the name servers for that website. This information is stored in DNS ( Domain Name System ) server. The information of domain name and IP address mapping is stored at many place by internet service providers so as to access the infomation faster.

when as internet users enters the url or web address ( eg : http://www.helplazysam.com ),in browsers like ( IE, Chrome or Firefox or called web client) a reuqest send to nearest reginal DNS server to lookup the corresponding IP for that domain name. If the DNS server can not resolve the location of domain name it send request to parent DNS server. This process goes until the IP address of the server, which hosts the website located. The DNS server then provides the browsers with the correct IP addrss, If it exists others was get an error, if it correct through browser we can download that webpage with graphics and display in our computer

Domain name Extension (TLD) and (ccTLD)
Domain got two parts TLD and Second level domain and TLD known as name extensions like ( .com, .Net, .org)
eg : helplazysam.com – here .com is TLD and helplazysam is the second level domain. Extension seprated with (.)

TLD ( Top Level Domain.)
Most common TLDs use in word is .net,.org. com

ccTLD ( Country Code Top Level Domain )
Is and Internet top level domain generally used or reserved for countries
eg for Qatar ( .com.qa , .edu.qa )
